You may find the need to delete multiple Contacts from your Android Phone, because you no longer keep in touch with many of the Contacts on your Contacts List.
If you a have a Samsung Galaxy Phone, the Contacts App on Samsung phones provides the option to delete selected multiple Contacts and also the option to delete all Contacts at once.
In comparison, the Contacts app on most stock Android Phones does not provide the option to delete multiple Contacts. However, you can still delete Multiple Contacts on Stock Android Phones by making use of Google Contacts Manager page.
Delete Multiple Contacts on Stock Android Phone
You can follow the steps below to delete multiple Contacts on stock Android phones using Google Contacts Manager.
1. Using a computer, visit Google’s Contacts Manager page
2. On the next screen, sign-in to Google Contacts by entering your Gmail ID and Password.
3. Once you are Signed-in, hover your mouse over the Contact that you want to delete and click in the check box that appears next to the Contact.
4. Similarly, select all the other Contacts that you want to delete by clicking on the check boxes
5. After all the Contacts that you want to delete are selected, click on the Trash can icon to delete the selected Contacts.
6. Once you click on the Trash Can icon you will see a pop-up, click on the Delete option.
Note: This method will only Delete Contacts that were saved to your Gmail Account. Contacts stored on your SIM Card will still remain and they won’t be deleted.
Sync Contacts to Stock Android Phone
After deleting Contacts using Google Contacts Manager page, you need to sync the Contacts to your Android device for the changes to show up.
1. Open the Contacts App on your Android phone.
2. Tap on 3-dots icon located at top-right corner of the screen and select Accounts in the drop-down menu.
3. From the next screen, navigate to Google > select your Email Account and tap on the Contacts tab to start syncing Contacts from your Gmail account
Once your phone has finished syncing contacts, head back to the Contacts app to see a leaner Contacts list with Multiple Contacts deleted from the list.
Delete Multiple Contacts on Samsung Galaxy Phone
As mentioned above, deleting Multiple Contacts on a Samsung Galaxy Phone is easy.
1. Open up the Contacts app on your Samsung Galaxy Phone
2. Tap and hold on a Contact that you want to delete, until you see a green check mark appearing beside the Contact Name.
3. Similarly, select all other Contacts that you want to delete by tapping on them
4. Once all the Contacts are selected, tap on the Delete option to delete the selected Contacts
5. On the confirmation pop-up, tap on the Delete option to confirm.
Delete All Contacts on Samsung Galaxy Phone
As mentioned above, the Contacts App on Samsung Galaxy Phone provides the option to delete all Contacts at once and wipe all your Contacts from your Contacts List.
1. Tap and hold on any Contact until a green check mark appears beside the Contact’s name.
2. Next, click in the little box next to All option, located at the top left-corner.
3. After this, tap on Delete to remove all Contacts from your Contacts List.
4. On the confirmation pop-up, tap on the Delete option to confirm.
