An easy way to transfer files and photos from your MacBook to another Mac is to transfer them wirelessly using AirDrop, instead of using a USB cable to transfer files from one computer to another.
The AirDrop feature on Mac makes use of Bluetooth technology to identify nearby Apple Devices and Wi-Fi Network to transfer Photos, Videos and Files between the two Apple Devices.
Hence, you need to make sure that both sending and receiving devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.
1. Setup AirDrop on Both Devices
In order to transfer files using AirDrop, the AirDrop feature needs to be enabled and properly setup on both the sending and the receiving devices.
1. Click on the Finder icon > select the Go tab in top-menu bar of your Mac and click AirDrop in the drop-down menu.
2. On the next screen, click on Allow me to be Discovered by option and select Everyone from the drop-down.
Note: You can also select Contacts Only option, but choosing Everyone reduces chance of errors.
3. Repeat the above steps on the other Mac to setup AirDrop on the other device as well.
