By default, songs that you add to Playlist in Apple Music are automatically added to Library. However, it is also possible to Add Songs to Playlist without adding them to Library in Apple Music.
Add Songs to Playlist Without Adding to Library in Apple Music
As mentioned above, when you add any song to Playlist, a copy of the same song is added to your Library in Apple Music.
This creates the issue of songs that you already played in the Playlist repeating and playing once again when you play songs on shuffle in Apple Music.
For example, if you create a Playlist containing Christmas songs in December, you may end up hearing the same Christmas songs when you play songs on shuffle in January.
Luckily, you can prevent this from happening by going to Apple Music Preferences on Mac or by going to Music App Settings on iPhone.
